Deckers Creek Half Marathon - June 7, 2008
Recognized as the fastest half-marathon in West Virginia, 307 runners crossed the finish line at the 8th annual Deckers Creek Trail Half-Marathon on June 7, 2008. This celebration of local rail-trails brought state and national attention to the Mon River Trails Conservancy with its unique mostly downhill 13.1-mile course from Masontown to Morgantown. Despite the heat wave, this year's race attracted runners from a record eighteen states and the Washington D.C. area. Results and pictures are available at www.iplayoutside.com.

Lucky number seven produced a hot summer day for the 232 runners that participated in the 7th annual Deckers Creek Trail Half-Marathon. This celebration of local trails has brought state and national attention to the Mon River Trails Conservancy with its unique mostly downhill 13.1 mile course from Masontown to Morgantown. This years race attracted runners from a record fourteen states and the Washington D.C. area and from as far away as including Arizona, Delaware, Florida, New Jersey, New York, Illinois and Georgia. Crossing the finish line, participants ranged in age from 14 to 77. The half-marathon began in Masontown, WV and finished at Hazel Ruby McQuain Riverfront Park in Morgantown. 24 Hours at Big Bear - June 9 & 10, 2007

A Bicycle Poker Run is a day of fun for all riders regardless of skill level and suitable for all ages. Cyclist travel from the starting point to four card-stops on the rail-trail where they pick up one playing card. The player with the best poker hand at the finish wins. Cyclist can chose any route to get to the card-stops, because this is not a race. The cyclist with the best hand wins, so bike safely and enjoy the rail-trail. For a donation of $10 per hand you can play as many hands as you like. $100 final prize for the best poker hand, and a $10 gift certificate from Wamsley's Cycles for the worst hand.

Marilla Park to Stanley's Spot Dog Park and back, approximately 2 miles on a fairly flat, paved Deckers Creek Rail-Trail.
First 50 dogs to register to participate will receive a PETCO neckerchief and "doggie bag" full of surprises.
Pre-registration by Monday, October 8- $7 per dog Registration received after Monday, October 8- $10 per dog.
All proceeds benefit the Mon River Trails Conservancy (MRTC) to help construct, manage, and maintain the Mon River and Deckers Creek Trails.
