MON RIVER TRAILS CONSERVANCY

The Mon River Trails Conservancy (MRTC) is a non-profit 501(c)3 volunteer organization founded in 1991 to acquire, develop, and manage the Mon River and Deckers Creek Rail-Trail system in North Central West Virginia.

MRTC manages these trails for non-motorized use, primarily walking, jogging, cycling, and cross-country skiing, and creates and promotes opportunities for recreation, tourism, economic development, historic preservation, healthy lifestyles, and environmental conservation.

Beneath the Surface

As you visit our trails, please take a moment to recognize what makes them enjoyable and functional recreation corridors. The Trail is made up of many components: the trail surface; hundreds of culverts and ditches to prevent flooding; dozens of gates and barrier posts to keep unauthorized vehicles off the trail; mile markers and signs to inform trail users; benches, trailheads, parking lots for comfort and convenience; and 48 miles of vegetation to mow and trim.

Our goal is to maintain the trails to the highest standards possible. Your funds help make this possible! Join us here.
